UserJot review 2026: what you get for $29 or $59 a month

What UserJot does well

The pricing unit is the right one and they argue it out loud. Their own pricing section says charging per user for a feedback tool "is like charging per customer for a store", and that they price the tool, not your reach. Every plan, including the free one, has unlimited users and unlimited posts. Set against Canny.io's tracked-user ladder, that is the whole argument in one line.

The free tier is a place you could live. Two boards, three admin roles, unlimited posts, unlimited users, a public roadmap and a public changelog, at nothing, forever. Most free tiers in this category are a demo with a countdown on them. This one is not.

The loop closes by itself. Duplicate detection runs as the customer types. When you mark something shipped, the changelog entry is drafted from the original request and everybody who voted or commented gets told. That last step is the work most teams quietly stop doing in month two, and automating it is worth more than most feature lists.

Getting off Canny.io is a job of minutes. They advertise first-class imports for Canny.io and CSV with AI-assisted column mapping, carrying boards, posts, votes, comments, statuses and users.

There is a real MCP server. Documented at userjot.com/mcp, with triage and changelog tools, so an agent can work the board rather than a person clicking through it. Several vendors in this category now ship one; UserJot's is among the better documented.

The shipping pace is visible. Weekly updates, published against their own public board, and the site says plainly that it is built by one person, customer funded, with no investors. Whether that reassures you or worries you is the real question, and we come back to it below.

What does UserJot cost in 2026?

Read on 23 August 2026 from the pricing section of userjot.com, where their own Pricing link points; userjot.com/pricing currently 404s. Flat per workspace, not per seat and not per tracked user.

Two things follow from that table. Custom domains and guest posting are both at $29, so the free tier's board lives on a UserJot address and expects people to sign in. That is a fair line to draw and it is the same line most of the category draws. And the jump to unlimited boards at $59 is the cheapest unlimited in any hosted tool we have priced.

What it costs against buying one

UserJot's price is fair for a hosted tool. The difference is that it comes back every month, and Docket does not.

Three years at $29 a month. On six products UserJot is $2,124, because unlimited boards are $59. Docket is $99 either way, and its agentic workflows are part of that one payment rather than a plan you stay on.

How it sits against the rest of the field

Price is the axis UserJot is competing on, so it is worth seeing it beside the others at the tier a small team would be on.

Each figure read from that vendor's own pricing page, Frill.co and Canny.io on 20 August 2026 and the rest on 23 August 2026, at the cheapest published billing for one product. Frill.co is cheaper on the headline and caps the entry tier at 50 active ideas. Featurebase's $348 is per seat and every other row is not.

Read that table and UserJot is not the cheapest line on it, but it is the only hosted row that pairs a flat workspace price with a free tier you could ship on. That is a narrow spot to occupy and it is deliberately chosen.

Who UserJot is wrong for

Anyone whose procurement wants third-party evidence. This is the weak point and it is worth being precise about it. On G2 UserJot has exactly one review. On Capterra it has none. On Product Hunt it has no reviews and no followers. All three checked in a browser on 23 August 2026. That does not make the product bad. It is an absence of evidence either way, and if somebody in your company has to justify the choice, absence is what they will have to work with.

Anyone who needs a compliance report. No SOC 2 attestation is published. If a security questionnaire is coming, Canny.io, Featurebase and UserVoice all have an answer and this does not.

Anyone for whom a single maintainer is a written risk. Olvy announced its closure in January 2025 and shut in February. Astuto's repository was archived in February 2026. This category does lose products. A solo founder shipping weekly is a genuine strength and a genuine concentration of risk at the same time, and pretending otherwise would not help you.

Anyone who needs a helpdesk or knowledge base in the same tool. UserJot is deliberately three things done well. Featurebase is the one that bundles support.

Best for: One product, or up to five boards, and a team that wants a hosted board today at a price that does not move as customers arrive.

Not for: Anyone running more than five boards on the entry plan, or a buyer who needs a longer track record than a tool built by one person can show.

Where Docket fits

UserJot and Docket agree on the pricing unit: neither charges by how many of your customers turn up. Where they part company is what you get for the money. UserJot is $29 a month for five boards and $59 for unlimited, with agent and API access only on the paid plans. Docket is $99 once for unlimited products, with the agentic workflows, the widget and the notifications included in that one payment.

Pick UserJot if you want somebody else to run it and you would rather not set anything up. It is well made and it is live this afternoon. Pick Docket if you would rather your customers' words stayed with you and the bill stopped: $99 for Pro, $249 for Studio, and a free edition that never expires.

Best for: One person or a small team shipping software who wants the board, roadmap, changelog and FAQ on their own domain, paid for once at $99.

Not for: Anyone who wants a vendor to run it for them. There is no hosted version, you set it up in your own GitHub account, and it is newer and smaller than Canny or Productboard.
