How do the Frill alternatives compare?

Every figure read on 23 August 2026 from that vendor's own pricing page, at the cheapest published billing: userjot.com, nolt.io/pricing, featurebase.app/pricing and canny.io/pricing, with Fider read from its repository. Frill itself is $25 a month billed monthly or $22 billed yearly, capped at 50 active ideas, with privacy and white labelling sold as add-ons whose prices are not published.

Going through the options

UserJot, $29 a month

No idea cap, five boards, unlimited users and posts, and private boards included at that tier rather than sold on top. Seven dollars a month more than Frill and it removes both of the limits people leave Frill over. AI duplicate detection and AI changelog drafting as well.

Canny, $79 a month billed yearly

Private boards on every plan, including the free one, which is the sharpest contrast with Frill's add-on. Unlimited boards and unlimited feedback too. Priced by tracked user, so it costs more at the start and grows with use. Their Autopilot AI mines support conversations for feedback.

Nolt, $29 a month billed yearly

Private boards and JWT single sign-on on the entry tier, unlimited ideas, unlimited users and admins, flat rate. Simpler than Frill and clearer about what you get. The trade is the board count: one at that price, five at $69 a month, and no free plan.

Featurebase, $29 per seat a month

Unlimited posts and comments even on the free tier. Board privacy is held back to their Professional plan, so on that particular point it is no better than Frill. Where it does win is breadth: a helpdesk, a help centre and surveys, which are the nearest thing to Frill's own survey feature.

Fider, free

AGPL-3.0 and actively maintained. Unlimited ideas, private boards and your own domain, for the cost of a small VPS and a mail sender, roughly $6 to $12 a month. No changelog feature at all, and the patching is yours: three releases in the three months to July 2026, the first fixing a critical authentication flaw.

Docket, $99 once

Ours. No idea cap, no board cap, and private by construction rather than as an add-on, because a repository is private until you publish it. A free edition that never expires where Frill gives you fourteen days. Feedback lands as Markdown in your own repository, and scheduled jobs draft the replies and write the changelog.

Which Frill alternative should you choose?

Three questions, and they settle almost every case.

• How many ideas will you collect? Fifty is the Frill Startup cap and a working board passes it inside a year. Unlimited ideas means their Business plan at $528 a year.
• Does the board need to be private? At Frill that is a paid add-on until $136 a month, and the add-on price is not published. Everywhere else here it is included at or below the entry tier.
• Were you buying it for the surveys? If so, stay. Embedded NPS and CSAT alongside a feedback board is the thing Frill does that almost nobody else on this page does at all.
