Every hosted option here bills again next year. Docket does not.

Going through the options
UserJot, $29 a month
No idea cap, five boards, unlimited users and posts, and private boards included at that tier rather than sold on top. Seven dollars a month more than Frill and it removes both of the limits people leave Frill over. AI duplicate detection and AI changelog drafting as well.
Best for: Leaving Frill over its idea cap or its paid privacy add-on, and staying hosted.
Not for: Anyone who needs more than five boards on the entry plan, or a vendor with a longer public track record than one person's tool can show.
Canny, $79 a month billed yearly
Private boards on every plan, including the free one, which is the sharpest contrast with Frill's add-on. Unlimited boards and unlimited feedback too. Priced by tracked user, so it costs more at the start and grows with use. Their Autopilot AI mines support conversations for feedback.
Best for: A team leaving Frill because private boards cost extra, and happy to pay for the best-established board, with Intercom, Zendesk and Jira already connected.
Not for: A team whose customer count is climbing. Canny charges by tracked user, so the bill rises with every customer and does not come back down.
Nolt, $29 a month billed yearly
Private boards and JWT single sign-on on the entry tier, unlimited ideas, unlimited users and admins, flat rate. Simpler than Frill and clearer about what you get. The trade is the board count: one at that price, five at $69 a month, and no free plan.
Best for: Someone who wants Frill's simplicity with private boards and single sign-on included, and needs only one board.
Not for: A studio with several products. A second to fifth board means Pro at $69 a month, $828 a year, and there is no free plan.
Featurebase, $29 per seat a month
Unlimited posts and comments even on the free tier. Board privacy is held back to their Professional plan, so on that particular point it is no better than Frill. Where it does win is breadth: a helpdesk, a help centre and surveys, which are the nearest thing to Frill's own survey feature.
Best for: A team that wants Frill's surveys plus a helpdesk and a help centre under one roof.
Not for: Two or more people on a tight budget. Each seat adds $29 a month, and taking the badge off is another $69 a month on Professional or above.
Fider, free
AGPL-3.0 and actively maintained. Unlimited ideas, private boards and your own domain, for the cost of a small VPS and a mail sender, roughly $6 to $12 a month. No changelog feature at all, and the patching is yours: three releases in the three months to July 2026, the first fixing a critical authentication flaw.
Best for: A developer who wants private boards without an add-on fee and does not mind running Docker, PostgreSQL and a mail sender.
Not for: Anyone who needs a changelog, which Fider has none of, or who would rather not apply the security patches.
Docket, $49 once
Ours. No idea cap and no board cap. A free edition that never expires where Frill gives you fourteen days. Feedback lands in it, Docket sends the first reply in your voice, and your agent writes the changelog.

Best for: A solo developer or small team shipping software, who wants the board, roadmap, changelog and FAQ on their own domain after a single payment.
Not for: Anyone who wants Frill-style hosting with nothing to set up. Docket runs from your own GitHub account, there is no hosted version, and it is newer and smaller than Canny or Productboard.
Which Frill alternative should you choose?
Three questions, and they settle almost every case.
- How many ideas will you collect? Fifty is the Frill Startup cap and a working board passes it inside a year. Unlimited ideas means their Business plan at $528 a year.
- Does the board need to be private? At Frill that is a paid add-on until $136 a month, and the add-on price is not published. Most of the others here include it at or below the entry tier, and Docket boards are always public.
- Were you buying it for the surveys? If so, stay. Embedded NPS and CSAT alongside a feedback board is the thing Frill does that almost nobody else on this page does at all.
