Going through the options
UserJot, $29 a month
The closest thing to a like-for-like swap, and the easiest one to move to: their Canny importer pulls boards, posts, votes, comments, statuses and users across in a couple of minutes. Flat price per workspace with unlimited end users, which is the right shape. Their AI spots duplicates as the customer types and drafts the changelog entry from the original request when you mark something done, then emails everyone who voted. The catch is boards: two on free, five at $29, and unlimited only at $59 a month.
Best for: One product, or up to five boards, and a team that wants a hosted board today at a price that does not move as customers arrive.
Not for: Anyone running more than five boards on the entry plan, or a buyer who needs a longer track record than a tool built by one person can show.
Featurebase, $29 per seat a month
Broader than a feedback board. It reaches into a full helpdesk with live chat and a shared inbox, a help centre with AI search and translation, NPS and CSAT surveys and outbound email. Good fit for a team that wants one vendor for several jobs, and SOC 2 Type II with EU hosting if procurement asks. Two things to know: it is priced per seat, so two people is $696 a year, and removing their branding is a $69 a month add-on that only exists on the $59 per seat plan or above.
Best for: A team that wants a helpdesk, a help centre and a feedback board from one vendor, with the best design in the category.
Not for: A team of more than one or two people on a budget. Seats compound at $29 each a month, and removing the badge is a further $69 a month on Professional or above.
Nolt, $29 a month billed yearly
The simplest of the group, and the fairest priced for a single product: flat rate, unlimited users, unlimited admins. 22 interface languages out of the box, which nobody else here matches, and deep two-way integrations with Jira, Linear, Asana and the rest. The limit is stark: The entry tier is one board. Five boards means Pro at $69 a month billed yearly, so a studio shipping five things pays $828 a year.
Best for: One board, run simply and beautifully, with unlimited users and 22 interface languages out of the box.

Frill, $22 a month billed yearly
The cheapest headline here, and the one where the headline needs the most reading. Startup caps you at 50 active ideas and one of each survey type. Private boards are a paid add-on until the $136 a month tier, and so is full white labelling. What Frill does well is surveys embedded in your own product and announcements with scheduling and segmentation, plus triage aids that only matter at volume.
Best for: A team that wants surveys, NPS and scheduled announcements sitting alongside the board.
Not for: Anyone who wants private boards or full white labelling cheaply. Both sit behind higher tiers, white labelling at $136 a month billed yearly.
Fider, free
The open source option, AGPL-3.0, actively maintained, and the only free entry on this list worth starting from. You run it: Docker, PostgreSQL and your own mail sender, so about $6 to $12 a month for a small VPS. Voting, roadmap and private boards are all there. Two catches. There is no changelog feature at all. And patching is yours: three releases in the three months to July 2026 fixed a critical authentication flaw, then SSRF and XSS, and noticing each one is your job.
Best for: A developer who is comfortable running Docker, PostgreSQL and a mail sender, and wants no licence cost at all.
Not for: Anyone who needs a changelog, which Fider does not have, or who would rather not be the one applying security patches.
Docket, $99 once
Ours, so read it knowing that. It is the only entry here you buy rather than rent: your own copy, in your own GitHub account, on your own domain, covering every product you ship with no board cap on any tier. Feedback lands in it, and Docket drafts the replies and writes the changelog for you. Your coding agent sets it up in about ten minutes.

Best for: One person or a small team shipping software who wants the board, roadmap, changelog and FAQ on their own domain, paid for once.
Not for: Anyone who wants a vendor to run it for them. There is no hosted version, you set it up in your own GitHub account, and it is newer and smaller than Canny or Productboard.
Which Canny alternative should you choose?
Three questions, and they settle almost every case.
- How many products will this cover? One, and everything here works. More than one, and the caps start biting: Nolt's entry tier is a single board, UserJot's is five, Featurebase's free tier is one.
- Who is going to run it? If the answer is nobody, pay somebody to. A hosted platform is a different trade rather than a worse choice, and Fider's security releases are a fair warning about the other side of it.
- Is the price going to move? Canny's does, by design: it is priced per tracked user, so the better the board works the more it costs. Everyone else here is flat, and one of them stops.
