What your money buys in each
The price, in fullBoth apps are one-time purchases, which is still rare in this category. They are structured differently, and it is worth knowing how before you pay.
Resurf has a free tier: the full Mac app for your first 50 captures and 4 spaces, with no time limit, and the iPhone and iPad app is free and unlimited. To go further you buy a licence for up to two Macs. Standard is $39 (normally $49) and includes two years of updates, with an optional $29 renewal for two more. Lifetime is $79 (normally $99) and includes every future update. At the free limit, in Resurf's own words, "Nothing is deleted, ever": the Mac app asks for a licence before you can keep browsing, and your files stay on disk.
Muse has a 30-day trial of the whole app instead of a free tier, then one price: $29, on three Macs, with every future update included, a promise written into the terms. Like for like, that is Muse's $29 against Resurf's $79 Lifetime, or $39 plus a $29 renewal every two years on Standard.
