When a drop fails or a customer moves a slot at 11am, we rebuild the whole run by hand. The optimiser only helps at the point we plan, which is the point we know least.

Agreed that the planning moment is the moment you know least. Being honest about the hard part: a replan has to respect what the driver has already done and where the vehicle actually is, so it needs live position rather than the morning's plan. Scoping that before we promise a date.
