ChatWise is a native desktop client for large language models: bring your own API keys for GPT, Claude, Gemini and others, or run local models, and chat with all of them from a single interface. Conversations are stored locally rather than on someone else's server, and the app supports web search, PDFs, images and audio as inputs, artifact rendering, and tools via MCP so models can reach services like Notion and Google Sheets.
Built by indie developer EGOIST and now on version 26.4 in 2026, it also plugs into subscriptions you already pay for, including GitHub Copilot and Claude Pro. The core app is free for personal use; a Pro licence is a one-time $29 with a 7-day trial, covering chat search, custom assistants and unlimited MCP tools.
