Mimestream is a native macOS email client built solely for Gmail, founded by Neil Jhaveri, a former Apple Mail engineer. Rather than IMAP it talks to the Gmail API directly, so labels, category inboxes, server-side filters and Gmail's own search all behave exactly as they do on the web, while the app itself stays properly Mac-like with full keyboard shortcuts, dark mode and Shortcuts support. Multiple accounts sit side by side or in a unified view, with snoozing, undo send, templates and calendar invitation replies built in.
It is a subscription, $49.99 per year or $4.99 per month after a 14-day free trial, covering all your Google accounts on up to five devices. Version 1.10, released in May 2026, added a unified All profile across accounts and turned on Private Push notifications by default on macOS 26. It requires macOS 12 Monterey or later.
