Affinity is the professional design suite that Canva made free for everyone on 30 October 2025. The all-new app merges what were previously three paid products, Affinity Designer, Photo and Publisher, into a single application with dedicated Vector, Pixel and Layout studios, so illustration, photo retouching and page design happen inside one universal file.
Nothing about the free price feels cut down. Full RGB and CMYK workflows, RAW development, OpenType typography and print-ready PDF export are all included; the only paid extras are Canva's optional AI features, which require a Canva Premium plan. You sign in with a free Canva account, and Serif's team in Nottingham still builds the app natively for Apple Silicon. For Mac designers, professional tooling at zero cost is the biggest software story in years.
