anything over about 70 characters gets cut with no ellipsis. "Everything we learned about onboarding" went out as "Everything we learned about onboard" which isn't a great look

Fixed in 1.6.2, out now. It cuts on a word boundary and adds an ellipsis, and the editor warns you at 60 characters instead of quietly letting you write something that won't fit.
