Your 30-day free trial

Every feature works for 30 days from first launch. There is no account, no card details and nothing to cancel. When the 30 days are up, Chorus asks for a licence key; nothing is taken from you automatically, because we have no way to take it.

Your licence

When you buy Chorus you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for your own personal use, on up to three Macs at a time. Your purchase includes every future update, free, for as long as you use Chorus. There is no subscription and no account; it is a one-time purchase of $4.99.

You can move a licence between machines by deactivating it on one and activating it on another.

What you may not do

Redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent or lend Chorus or your licence key.
Share your licence key publicly.
Reverse-engineer Chorus to defeat its licensing, except where UK law expressly allows it.
Remove or obscure our copyright or branding.

Price and payment

Chorus costs $4.99, once. Payment is handled by Polar, who act as the Merchant of Record and the seller for your purchase, using Stripe to process the payment. We never see or receive your card details. Any sales tax or VAT is calculated and shown by Polar at checkout.

Your 14-day right to cancel

Because Chorus is a digital product sold at a distance, you would normally have 14 days to cancel for any reason under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Digital products are a special case: we can only hand you a licence key straight away if you agree to give that right up. At checkout you are asked to confirm this, and if you do, your key is delivered immediately and the 14-day right no longer applies.

This is why the 30-day trial exists. You can use every feature of Chorus, for a month, before you spend anything. If something has still gone wrong, write to us; we would rather sort it out than stand on the letter of a rule.

Your statutory rights (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the digital content you buy must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described on this website. If it is not, you are entitled to repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund, as the law provides. These statutory rights override anything in this document, and nothing here removes them. To make a claim, email support@theodorehq.com; we respond within 30 days.

App updates

Chorus checks for updates in the background and can install them for you. Updates are signed, and the app verifies that signature before installing anything. You can turn automatic updates off in the app's settings.

What Chorus needs to run

macOS 13 or later, on either Intel or Apple Silicon. Chorus uses the audio grouping macOS already provides. It installs no driver and no kernel extension, and removing the app leaves your Mac as it was.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with Chorus is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. We do not limit or exclude liability for fraud, for gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else UK law does not permit us to limit, including your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Ending your licence

We may revoke a licence if it was obtained by fraud, if a chargeback is raised without contacting us first to resolve the problem, or if it is redistributed in breach of these terms. We will email you before doing so wherever we can.

Privacy

Chorus never records or transmits audio. What little we hold, and why, is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here removes any right you have to bring proceedings where you live, if your local consumer-protection law gives you that right.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, email active customers at least fourteen days before they take effect. Changes that reduce your rights do not apply retroactively to purchases already made.
